playground [ --help| --version] [ --type OUTPUT_TYPE] *.[fF]90
DESCRIPTION
create an HTML document from Fortran source files that includes a click-able download to the "Fortran Playground".
URL encoding, officially known as percent-encoding, is a method to encode arbitrary data in a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) using only a limited subset of ASCII characters, replacing them with one or more character triplets that consist of the percent character and a two-digit hexadecimal value.
MOTIVATION
What is desired is the ability to click on codes in Forums and HTML documents and have it execute with the most recent compilers on-line.
There are several on-line Fortran compilers available. The Fortran wiki lists several. One, called the "playground" is maintained as part of the fortran-lang site.
The current playground allows for easily transferring programs from an HTML document as a form. This would be particularly useful for code examples in other fortran-lang resources like the example codes in the intrinsics descriptions and allow for other fortran documentation to have live links.
As mentioned, there are several dozen on-line Fortran interfaces described on the Fortran WIki. Some are trivial but others are good examples of possible features but the most desirable feature for me would be
+ integration with the fortran-lang documentation so example codes and the man-page demo programs could be executed. + the ability to use fpm(1) and registered packages with the latest compilers. + If possible an extension to the Fortran discourse that automatically could transfer a fortran section from a discourse discussion to the playground would be a major unique enhancement.A more ambitious feature would be able to also include an fpm manifest file that uses dependencies as repositories as well. Perhaps just simple comments in the code could be used or a scan for USE statements.
