SYNOPSIS

elemental function isascii(onechar)

    character(len=*),intent(in) :: onechar
    logical              :: isascii

DESCRIPTION

isascii(3f) returns .true. if the character is in the range char(0) to char(127)

OPTIONS

onechar
  character to test

RETURNS

isascii
  Returns true logical value if character is an ASCII character. If a multi-byte string was input .false. is returned if any character is not ASCII. A null string returns .false.
